Pastor says that God called him to walk 500 miles through Shenandoah Valley

Jay Ahleman, a 65-year old pastor, is about to embark on a mission that will cause him to walk 500 miles through the Shenandoah Valley in an effort to spread the Word of God.

Pastor Jay is going on this journey because he wants to address some of the issues that are occurring in America. His journey will be to support and emphasize these principles:

  • The Sanctity of Human Life
  • The Traditional Family and Marriage (between a man and a woman)
  • A National Work Ethic (not a Socialist and Welfare culture)
  • The Right To a God-Centered Education
  • The Abrahamic Covenant (Stop “bowing to Islam, and standing up for Israel)
  • Common Decency
  • Our Personal Accountability To God

Aside from these principles, Pastor Jay also has another goal. He wants to promote the importance of Christian programming.

Pastor Jay was part of a group that purchased WAZT, a local Christian TV station. The station is attempting to expand its coverage. The ownership group is currently taking donations in order to make this happen.

Check out this video. Pastor Jay Ahleman explains why he is doing the walk.

It seems that there is a growing trend of people being called to take walks for God. I really don’t have a problem with anything that promotes the Word of God. What do you think?

Church in Florida will host “Burn a Koran Day” on September 11

USA Today is reporting that The Dove World Outreach Center, a non-denominatioinal church, will burn copies of the Koran to commemorate the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

This church (located in Gainsville, Florida) beleives that this event will serve as a stand against the “evil of Islam.” The church is even selling “Islam is the devil” T-Shirts.

In my opinion, this is wrong on so many levels. Nothing says “I love Jesus” like disrespecting another religion.

I have committed my life to following Jesus Christ. I firmly believe that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way. However, I don’t beleive that it is God’s desire for us to disrespect another religon.

As believers, it is important for us to remember Luke 6:27-36.

[27] “But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, [28] bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. [29] If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. [30] Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. [31] Do to others as you would have them do to you.

If another religion had national movements where bibles were burned, Christians would be ready to wage war…a physical war.

There are much better ways to commemorate 9/11 and still send a message to people of the Islamic faith. It would be much more beneficial if we all joined together to pray for them. Let’s pray that they would come to know Jesus.

You can call me a “soft Christian.” I don’t care. Buring a Koran is flat out wrong!
