Welcome to The Gospel Blog

Hello, name is Clifton Holmes, but most people call me Cliff. First and foremost I deeply love God and I absolutely love being a Christian. I originally created The Gospel Blog because I love gospel music in all its many forms (black gospel, praise and worship, gospel rap, etc.). I am also passionate about Christian media too (books, movies, television). I wanted a place where I could discuss and explore all of these things.

One day I felt the Lord lead me in another direction. He wanted me to broaden the scope of this blog. God helped me realize that many Christians go through real problems every day. Unfortunately, a number of these issues are rarely discussed. This was the start of what I call the second evolution of The Gospel Blog.

Now, The Gospel Blog seeks to go beyond music and entertainment. It is about the life of a Christian. It is about discussing Christianity from a realistic and honest perspective. It is about exploring Christianity as a relationship with God rather than religious practice. In a nutshell, The Gospel Blog is about giving Christians insight and information that will help them live a healthy and prosperous life.

If you are looking for the absolute latest news or exclusive interviews, then The Gospel Blog probably not for you. There are a number of perfectly fine sites that fulfill that purpose. Sure I may break news, interview an artist or minister and review albums, but that is not the main goal of this site.

The Gospel Blog is about taking various topics and looking at them from a different and broad Christian perspective. I also like to try to throw in a little humor every now and then too. Every topic is fair game from  entertainment to family, relationships, church,  ministry, sports, politics and more.

It is OK to have an opinion. I have an opinion and I am not ashamed to provide it about any topic. I respect every artist or minister that is doing work for the kingdom of God. Furthermore, I encourage you to have opinions make those opinions known.
