Jay Ahleman, a 65-year old pastor, is about to embark on a mission that will cause him to walk 500 miles through the Shenandoah Valley in an effort to spread the Word of God.

Pastor Jay is going on this journey because he wants to address some of the issues that are occurring in America. His journey will be to support and emphasize these principles:

The Sanctity of Human Life

The Traditional Family and Marriage (between a man and a woman)

A National Work Ethic (not a Socialist and Welfare culture)

The Right To a God-Centered Education

The Abrahamic Covenant (Stop “bowing to Islam, and standing up for Israel)

Common Decency

Our Personal Accountability To God

Aside from these principles, Pastor Jay also has another goal. He wants to promote the importance of Christian programming.

Pastor Jay was part of a group that purchased WAZT, a local Christian TV station. The station is attempting to expand its coverage. The ownership group is currently taking donations in order to make this happen.

Check out this video. Pastor Jay Ahleman explains why he is doing the walk.

It seems that there is a growing trend of people being called to take walks for God. I really don’t have a problem with anything that promotes the Word of God. What do you think?

This church (located in Gainsville, Florida) beleives that this event will serve as a stand against the “evil of Islam.” The church is even selling “Islam is the devil” T-Shirts.

In my opinion, this is wrong on so many levels. Nothing says “I love Jesus” like disrespecting another religion.

I have committed my life to following Jesus Christ. I firmly believe that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way. However, I don’t beleive that it is God’s desire for us to disrespect another religon.

As believers, it is important for us to remember Luke 6:27-36.

[27] “But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, [28] bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. [29] If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. [30] Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. [31] Do to others as you would have them do to you.

If another religion had national movements where bibles were burned, Christians would be ready to wage war…a physical war.

There are much better ways to commemorate 9/11 and still send a message to people of the Islamic faith. It would be much more beneficial if we all joined together to pray for them. Let’s pray that they would come to know Jesus.

You can call me a “soft Christian.” I don’t care. Buring a Koran is flat out wrong!

What do you think? Post a comment and share your thoughts about this.

On Monday, Warren told all of his followers on Twitter that his eyes were “severely burned by a toxic poison” and he experienced “excruciating pain.”

Warren’s spokesman released a statement and said that the pastor was using gloves to prune two large firestick plants in his backyard. The succulent has a milky white sap that can cause temporary blindness. When Warren removed his gloves, he wiped his brow and both of his eyes immediately started to burn.

If you are one of those people, then I’ve got good news for you. GMC will air the tribute concert on Sunday July, 25 at 8 PM ET, 5 PM PT. Artists that performed at the concert included Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, Mary Mary, Byron Cage, and many more.

I have been very critical of GMC in the past for their choices of programming. I must commend them on this one. The network deserves a lot of credit for giving millions of people the opportunity celebrate the life of Bishop Walter Hawkins.

I definitely plan to watch the celebration. Are you going to watch it?

Most people consider FFH to be a worship band. After listening to Wide Open Spaces, I found something different.

FFH has endured some struggles over the years. The group broke up in 2006 and was basically dead. Wide Open Spaces signifies the rebirth of the group.

This CD was clearly created from a different place than most albums I’ve heard before. This music was written from a very personal place.

In my opinion, this CD does not contain worship songs that would likely be sung around churches across the world. It does contain music that is very reflective.

This is music that speaks to the crossroads in our lives. It speaks to the feelings of confusion, loneliness, and frustration that we have all experienced. When you feel like you are at the end of your rope, this CD can help. When you feel lost, the CD will help you seek God to establish a direction.

The rhythms and instrumentation fit the tone of the lyrics. This CD doesn’t contain heavy guitar and loud drums. I found the rhythms to be smooth and light.

I have something to confess. After initially listening to Wide Open Spaces, I wanted the album to be so much more. I was prepared to criticize the CD for everything that it was not.

After taking time to reflect, I appreciate this CD for what it is. These are songs of joy. These songs illustrate how you can find victory in times of struggle.

Wide Open Spaces by FFH is available on Amazon.com and iTunes.
Pastor Donnie McClurkin is scheduled to perform at Boston Gospelfest 2010. It appears there are a number of people in the Boston area that do not think he should participate in the concert.

Over the last couple of years Donnie McClurkin has made it clear that he has struggled with homosexuality in the past. Now that he has been delivered from those struggles, many people believe that he preaches homophobic sermons.

As a result, members of the LGBT community in Boston are strongly against Donnie McClurkin’s participation in Gospelfest. In fact, the issue is so big, that even the mayor of Boston has gotten involved.

Organizers of the event considered removing Pastor McClurkin from the concert and attempted to find another Gospel artist to take his place. These efforts were unsuccessful. As or right now, he will still appear in the event.

This article explains the entire situation.
