Sandra Bullock and Jesse James Marriage Troubles: What Christians Can Learn

By Cliff, March 18, 2010

jessejames-sandrabullockMultiple media outlets are reporting about the difficulties that actress Sandra Bullock and Jesse James are experiencing in their marriage. If these reports are accurate, it appears that they are basically on the verge of divorce.

While this is a sad event, there is a lesson that we can all learn if we observe closely. None of us are exempt from having certain things fall apart in our lives. Sandra Bullock is an attractive woman with plenty of money. You would think that her husband would not need to go outside of their marriage and sleep with another woman. (This is what allegedly happened.)

Openly Gay Bishop Ordained by Episcopal Church

By Cliff, March 17, 2010

The Christian Post is reporting that the Episcopal Church is ordaining its second openly gay bishop. Rev. Canon Mary Douglas Glasspool was elected bishop suffragan in the Diocese of Los Angeles.

This is a very interesting development in the church. I don’t know many people that would be involved in a ministry where the leader is openly gay. Bishop Glasspool has been openly gay for a long time. Now, she will have leadership over multiple churches. This has to cause many believers to look at the Episcopal Church from a completely different perspective.

Where do you draw your inspiration? How do you stay motivated and enthusiastic? What do you do when “plan A” doesn’t work?

Yesterday on Twitter, Fred Hammond shared his thoughts and feelings about inspiration. He talked about the times in his life where he had to draw inspiration from others.

Since it is really easy to miss things on Twitter. I thought I would share Fred’s comments. Check out his words below:

When my inspiration flatlines I look for someone who’s mak’n it Happen. it’s like a defibrillator to my creative chest. PRESS IT! CLEAR!!!”

What to Do When You Hate Your Job

By Cliff, March 15, 2010
angry chris

It is Monday and there you are dragging yourself to work for another week. Do you hate your job? Do you hate the people that work there? Do you hate the work that you do? I know for some people “hate” is a strong word. Unfortunately, for a lot of people, hating their job is a reality.

The current economy is arguably horrible. You should be extremely grateful if you are blessed to have a job in this economy. Even though it may not be the job you want or like, I encourage you to be grateful for it. When you go to work everyday, let God know how grateful you are for the job you have. Your situation could be much, much worse.

————————————
Lord,

I thank you for facebook. It has allowed me to connect with my family and friends all across the world.

I thank you that facebook has shown me all of the people I have dated or thought about dating in the past. I am grateful that I am not in a relationship with any of those people today.
