I’m sure you will be exposed to tons of tributes to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today. There is nothing I can say that would do justice to the work and the legacy of this great man. It is always interesting when you think how Dr. King was a minister of the Gospel before he became a powerful activist. His life is a testament to how God can use any and all of us to do great things.

According to an article by The Christian Post, President Obama starts his day with prayer and devotion. I think that is great. Many people have looked for Obama to be the messiah that will save America. As foolish as that notion is, I’m happy that the President realizes that he can’t do his job without God’s help. That is a good example for us to all follow.

The Christian Post is reporting that a Nebraska bill that would allow church security guards to carry concealed handguns recently advanced in the state legislature.
I’m sure that most of us never thought we would come to a time where guns were needed in the house of God. Unfortunately, recent church violence has made the use of handguns a necessary evil forĀ some churches.

Once again I find myself asking the age old question, “Why should I care about this?” As many of you know, Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama were part of a faith forum that was held on Sunday. At this forum they were asked the questions about God and the bible.

There has been a lot of noise in the media about the presidential candidates and their religious affiliations. My question is, should we care? When voting for a presidential candidate should my first concern be where they worship?
