Churches Helping Churches: Helping Haiti and Other Areas When Disaster Strikes

I am a firm believer that it is the church’s duty to rise up when disaster and difficult times come. That is why I am happy to tell you about an organization called Churches Helping Churches.

After being moved by the tragedy and destruction in Haiti, Pastor James MacDonald from Harvest Bible Chapel and Pastor Mark Driscoll from Mars Hill Church decided to create an organization that will give support to local churches when disaster happens. They believe that rebuilding churches in times of disaster helps support the infrastructure of an entire country, region or city. This makes perfect sense when you really think about it. Many times churches are used as shelters and distribution centers.

It is clear to me that these pastors are serious about the work that God has called them to do. They have already begun to hire a full-time staff to begin assessing and addressing needs. Many churches and pastors have already joined them in their efforts. They have already begun in Haiti and I am confident that they will answer the call if and when disaster strikes anywhere else across the globe.
