Jesus Christ Cartoon Coming to Comedy Central

Comedy Central, the network that brought us shows like South Park, Drawn Together and Ben 10 is now developing a half hour cartoon about Jesus Christ. The show will be called JC and it will depict Jesus leaving heaven and attempting to live life in New York city.

I am a huge proponent of new and innovative Christian programming. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that this probably won’t be ground breaking Christian programming. Ministry probably won’t be a core focus of this show.

How do you feel about this? Are you offended by the notion of a show that may potentially be making fun of Jesus Christ?

Post a comment below and let me know what you think.

what is this world coming to? I know Christ is coming back soon for his church, and also know that stuff out of the norm will be happening, but making fun of Christ himself is pushing it to the extreme!!!! why cant Christians get together and stop the dumb stuff and put on a show about the life of Christ and the prophecy of his return for his ppl and get the gospel out there instead of the word of satan out there… COME ON WE HAVE TO FIGHT FOR CHRIST, HE DIED FOR US!!!!!!!!

    You’re welcome Comedy Central

Fearing Islam, Comedy Central is now planning an entire show about Jesus.

Clearly, Comedy Central has complimented Christianity as they know that the worse they can expect out of Christians for besmirching Jesus is that we will say, “Well, I just won’t watch it,” or, “I will pray for them.”

As Richard Dawkins stated it (during a rare moment of clarity):
“There are no Christians, as far as I know, blowing up buildings. I am not aware of any Christian suicide bombers. I am not aware of any major Christian denomination that believes the penalty for apostasy is death. I have mixed feelings about the decline of Christianity, in so far as Christianity might be a bulwark against something worse”

If we want to make change in media, we need to speak the media’s language. Massive protests might not have the effect we would want them to. They may cause more people to watch the show.

In the world of television, ratings speak louder than any protest. The show won’t last if people don’t watch.
