“Kerry Douglas Presents Gospel Mix IV” coming soon

Kerry Douglas, CEO of Black Smoke Music Worldwide, has really been making waves in the Gospel music industry over the last couple of years. In case you didn’t know, Black Smoke Music is responsible for bringing us artists like Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson and James Fortune & FIYA.

The Black Smoke brand has also started to extend into the world of compilation CDs. Kerry Douglas Presents Gospel Mix IV CD/DVD is the latest project to join the compilation arena. The CD/DVD package will hit stores August 31, 2010.

This new project will feature the radio hit I Believe that features James Fortune & FIYA, Shawn Mclemore and Zacardi Cortex. The 14 track DVD will feature live performances for concept videos of the various artists on the audio CD such as James Fortune, Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson, Earnest Pugh, The Brown Boyz and Jimmy Hicks.

Douglas also plans to launch an aggressive marketing campaign that will feature radio and national television advertising, and a Motown Revue-styled fall concert tour (by bus) starring the various artists featured on the Gospel Mix IV.

I think going the compilation route is really good business move. The success of the WOW Gospel series has already proven that people will support a compilation project that is full of good music.

What do you think? Do you plan on checking out Gospel Mix IV?
