Review: “Here I Am” by Marvin Sapp

By Cliff, March 16, 2010

marvinsappI recently checked out Marvin Sapp’s new album entitled Here I Am. You won’t hear earth shattering instrumental performances. You also won’t hear music production that will change the face of Gospel music. When you listen to this album, you will hear music that will encourage, inspire and uplift you.

We all go through different struggles in our life. This album can serve as the sound track for a given season. When you need encouragement to hold on and make it through, you’ll want to listen to Here I Am.

Where do you draw your inspiration? How do you stay motivated and enthusiastic? What do you do when “plan A” doesn’t work?

Yesterday on Twitter, Fred Hammond shared his thoughts and feelings about inspiration. He talked about the times in his life where he had to draw inspiration from others.

Since it is really easy to miss things on Twitter. I thought I would share Fred’s comments. Check out his words below:

When my inspiration flatlines I look for someone who’s mak’n it Happen. it’s like a defibrillator to my creative chest. PRESS IT! CLEAR!!!”

Is it Wrong to Laugh at Christians on YouTube?

By Cliff, March 15, 2010

I’m sure you’ve seen those funny Christian videos on YouTube. Someone is either singing or preaching and the people watching are laughing. In many cases these people are serious, but it becomes funny to the rest of us. Is this wrong?

It is wrong for us to laugh at Christians that either sing or preach bad? Is there anything in the bible against laughing at people? I know that we aren’t supposed to mock God. When we laugh at these people are we laughing at them, God or both? Let me know what you think.

Review: “Pieces of A Real Heart” by Sanctus Real

By Cliff, March 10, 2010

sanctusrealIf you have been checking out any of the major Christian music charts, you will notice that Sanctus Real has been making a climb towards the top. The reason for this because their latest album, Pieces of A Real Heart, is really really good.

On the surface, the music is high quality. When you hear the guitar, drums and vocals, you won’t be disappointed.

I encourage you to go beyond the music and allow yourself to really hear the lyrics. They really speak to the life of someone who has spent considerable time walking with God. Certain themes like forgiveness, redemption, and allowing God to be in control of your life can be found in many of our lives. This album addresses them in such a personal and real way.
