Review: Donnie McClurkin “We Are All One”

donnie-weareallone“This is the album that talks about how great God is.” Those are the words that Donnie McClurkin used to describe his new album We Are All One on BET’s 106 & Gospel.

There is no doubt that this an album that magnifies and glorifies our awesome God. Donnie McClurkin fans are going to fall in love with this CD immediately. He doesn’t stray away from the formula that makes him both a great artist and minister.

CeCe Winans, Mary Mary and Yolanda Adams deliver out standing guest performances on When You Love. The great singing doesn’t stop there. I am always amazed at the sounds that come out of the mouth of Karen Clark Sheard. Her performance on Wait on the Lord is chilling.

This wouldn’t be a Donnie McClurkin album if it didn’t feature some traditional gospel songs. I’m sure many church choirs will be singing The Great I Am over the course of the next few months. Donnie even gives us a little something different with Choose to Be Dancing. This song is a pleasant contrast to what we have heard in the past from him.

If you have purchased Donnie McClurkin projects in the past, go get this one. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. If you are new to Donnie’s music, got to your favorite music service and preview a couple of tracks. Make sure you have your wallet ready. I’m sure you be compelled to make a purchase after listening for a couple of minutes.
