A new music video by Tamela Mann, Star of TBS’ “Meet the Browns” will make its BET debut on Sunday, January 17, 2010 @ 11 AM EST on “Video Gospel.” The song is entitled “The Master Plan”.

What do you think about the video?
I will be the first one to admit that BET has made some very questionable programming decisions over the last couple of years. Many people would argue that BET is contributing to the dumbing down of the African American community. That being said, BET is to be commended for their Gospel music programming, more specifically Celebration of Gospel.
I’m surprised by the number of people that had issues with the most recent edition of Celebration of Gospel. It seems that people really wanted BET to show those spirit driven moments of the program. By many accounts, there were moments where the presence of the Holy Spirit could be felt in the theatre. If you watched the broadcast on TV, you were not able to see these moments, because they were edited out.
I can’t believe that Celebration of Gospel has been on the air for 10 years. Over that time BET has given us a prime time view of some of Gospel music’s finest artists. So, last night, I sat and watched the broadcast with great anticipation. Here are some of my thoughts on the show.
The Music
Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that there was a time when Celebration of Gospel was used as a showcase to display artists that have released recorded music at least within the last two years. It didn’t seem like that was the case this year. I think the BET producers got together and said “who do we want on the show this year”.
