I can’t believe that Celebration of Gospel has been on the air for 10 years. Over that time BET has given us a prime time view of some of Gospel music’s finest artists. So, last night, I sat and watched the broadcast with great anticipation. Here are some of my thoughts on the show.
The Music Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that there was a time when Celebration of Gospel was used as a showcase to display artists that have released recorded music at least within the last two years. GospelCity.com is reporting that Pastor Donnie McClurkin has signed a deal with RNN (Regional News Network) to air “Perfecting Your Faith” on Sunday mornings at 8:00 AM (ET). The broadcast will feature sermons deliverd by Pastor McClurkin from the Perfecting Faith Church located in Freeport, NY.
It is interesting that someone who is know worldwide would choose to do a regional broadcast instead of a national one. I’m sure he could have put something together with The Word Network, TBN or The Church Channel. It is likely that RNN will be compensating him, instead of the other way around. If so, that is good for Pastor McClurkin and his congregation. Hopefully that money will be used to do great things. Read more...
