Gunnar Samuelson, a pastor and Sweedish theologian, believes that Jesus Christ didn’t actually die on the cross. While he does believe that Jesus did die for our sins, he thinks that a different method was used to kill him.

I am not a degree holding theological scholar. As a result, I try not to get into any debates with a person that spends years studying the in and outs of the bible.

Personally, I’m not too concerned HOW he died. I’m just grateful that he DID die for all of us.

Listen to the audio below. Samuelson explains his stance on how Jesus was actually killed.

Listen to the whole thing. There are times when the interviewer flip flops between English and another language. She is providing translation for her audience.

After you listen to the audio, post a comment and let me know what you think.

The Associated Press is reporting that a 6-story-tall statue of Jesus Christ was struck by lightning in a thunderstorm Monday night and burned to the ground.

The “King of Kings” statue is located along side a highway at Solid Rock Church in Ohio. It depicts Jesus, from the torso up, with his hands raised in the air. It is affectionately know as “Touchdown Jesus.”

Unfortunately, the statue wasn’t the only casualty here. The fire also spread to the nearby amphitheater. No one was hurt or injured in the accident.

I’m sure the news of this will spark tons of jokes. While I love a good joke, I don’t think this had anything to do with God being angry at Jesus. Honestly, I can’t explain why this happened.

I am very thankful that no one was injured. Please keep Solid Rock Church in your prayers as they rebuild their facilities.

Here is a video the describes the incident.

Have you experienced this before? You go to church on Easter Sunday morning and say “Happy Easter” to someone you see. Then, they respond by saying “You mean Happy Resurrection Sunday” with a holier than thou look on their face. They look at you as if you’re some type of heathen.

I don’t know why some Christians act like they are so much more spiritual than the rest of us. Is there anything wrong with saying Easter? No. I know that Easter has become extremely commercial over the years. Some people give more attention to eggs and bunnies than they do Jesus.

Isn’t Christmas the same way? What do Santa Claus, reindeer and mistletoe have to do with the birth of Jesus? Absolutely nothing. However I have noticed that people don’t chastise you for saying “Merry Christmas.” I can’t think of anybody that walks around saying “Happy Jesus Birthday.” (I do know people that say Happy Birthday Jesus, but that is different.)

Does what we call it really matter? There really isn’t any need for any of us to act like we are better than anyone else. Use the terms “Easter” or “Resurrection Sunday”, they are just words. What is really important is the work and sacrifice of Jesus. When you think about it, mere words really can’t describe what he did for ALL of us.

As always, feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Is it just me, or doesn’t it seem like there is a lot of sickness going around today. I’m talking about more than just swine flu. I get this sense that people are carrying around a lot of burdens.

You may be carrying burdens right now or you may know someone who is. I’m sure that you want to overcome what is bothering you. I know that you want to have victory. However, something inside of you can’t help but think bow hard this struggle is.

As believers, we can take great joy in knowing that all of the hard work has already been done for us. Jesus did all of the heavy lifting and all of the hard work on the cross.

Sometimes we need to remember Isaiah 53:5. That’s not just some nice scripture that we quote in church to make people feel good. It is 100% TRUTH!

I know this may not be easy, but there is really no point in worrying about your pain suffering. When we worry, we don’t take full advantage to the amazing, outstanding and supernatural work that Jesus did on Calvary.

Here is an interesting concept. God wants to deal with all of our worries and pains. If you have trouble believing me, check out 1 Peter 5:7

So what do we need to do? Fortunately our role is relatively simple. First, need we to give the God thanks. Thank him for sending his son t0 deal with our every hurt, pain and disease.

Second, we must open our hearts and receive. We have to openly receive what Jesus did for us. We have to openly receive his sacrifice of love. We have to openly receive the fact that Jesus endured pain and suffering, so that we would not need to.

I don’t know about you, but I am extremely grateful. Jesus didn’t owe any of us anything. However, he was beaten and whipped, just so I could have a better life. That is such an awesome concept! I may catch the flu or some other type of illness this season. As a result, my body may feel absolutely horrible. In spite of all that, I know that I can and will overcome anything that may afflict me, because of what Jesus did.

What do you do when you are burdened and you experience physical pain.
