According to Billboard magazine, gospel duo Mary Mary broke the record for the longest chart-run by a group on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with their Grammy winning single, “God in Me.” The hit record from their album, The Sound, has spent 64 weeks on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, surpassing Dru Hill’s “In My Bed,” which spent 63 weeks on the chart from 1997-98. In addition, the duo also holds the longevity record among gospel songs on this chart, surpassing Kirk Franklin’s “Looking for You,” which ran for 60 weeks in 2005-06.

Are You Worldly?

Many Christians read Romans 12:2 and 2 Corinthians 6:14-17 and they take that as their cue to separate themselves from everything around them that is not “Christian”. That means that they greatly alter the people they talk to, the type of music they listen to and the type of things they watch on TV. On the surface, there is nothing wrong with this line of thinking. However, I would argue that it is hard for Christians who behave like this to truly have an impact on the world.
